Getting Around In Cancun Is Easy
There are many reasons you should choose Cancun for your next travel destination. Cancun is the ultimate tourist vacation hotspot. The Cancun Caribbean ocean has the most breathtaking colors of blue you will ever see. The beach is the cleanest and best kept beach you will ever see also. Getting around in Cancun is so easy its fun! As a tourist in another city or country, you tend to not know much about the surrounding area and how to get around when you are on vacation. This tends to cause confusion and lost vacation time do to unnecessary inconveniences that could be avoided in an optimum tourism environment such as Cancun.
Cancun is not like any other destination in the world and it is the most easiest place to get around. The Cancun HOTEL ZONE is where most people stayand is a 30 km stretch of beach with the ocean behind the hotels, road in front, and an enormous lagoon on the other side.
All you need to do is walk out front of your hotel and hop on a bus or a cab and within 5-10 minutes you will arrive at wherever you need or want to be.
Welcome to the hotel zone
Everything you need is here: restaurants, hotels, shopping centers, souvenirs, night clubs, pharmacies, banks, adventure tours, spa services… pretty much everything you need for your vacation is all on the same street within 15 minutes of everywhere. This makes for a much more relaxing vacation. All the guess work has been taken away from the logistics and transportation.
Also, the airport is on the same street and its only 10-30 minutes away from all the hotels in the HOTEL ZONE. It almost seems like the hotel zone was designed so that you don’t have to think about where you are going because you can see where you want to go from the bus, cab or car because everything is on the same street, Kukulcan Boulevard.
I prefer to take the bus over a taxi cab because the view from the bus is absolutely breathtaking…
For the entire bus ride (5-20 mins) you have an unobstructed view of the lagoon which pours out over the land into the sunset. Other than the view, the bus is great because no matter where you are in the hotel zone, a bus is always coming to pick you up and take you to where you want to go. All you need to know is where you want to get off, and you don’t even need to watch for your stop. Just tell the bus driver where you want to get off and he will stop there every time. Buses are always running. Wait times are on average 2-5 minutes. Also, there is a good chance that there will be a Mexican guy playing guitar and singing ”La Bamba”. These bus rides easily and often can turn into a KARAOKE sing-along party…
Its a hassle when you always have to pay a taxi driver to take you somewhere. Sometimes you are not even sure where you want to go, or, where you are being taken because you are not familiar with the area. In Cancun, this never a problem because there is just one street that you go back and forth on.
So if you don’t speak Spanish, don’t worry.
You don’t need to. All you need to do is walk outside your hotel and stand there for 10-30 seconds, and either a taxi or a bus will pick you up immediately. No calls, no reservation, no english… no problem.
Have you ever gone on a vacation and didn’t have enough fun? That’s because you had no “connections” to the locals and to the travel/tour industry and as a result, you didn’t meet any new friends to share your vacation with. Maybe there was nobody to show you around and tell you what to spend your money on, where to go, and most importantly… how to save your money. In the past, I can remember multiple vacations that I felt like an outsider. Like that person that stands on the sideline watching everyone else have fun.
“It doesn’t matter if you go on vacation by yourself, with your significant other, or with a group, if you have somebody showing you around, introducing you to people, and directing you to events and activities… your vacation is going to be much more fun and exciting”.
So many times I have been hanging out at the pool, beach or restaurant and met people on vacation that have no idea what to do with themselves. After I tell them what they are looking for and how/where to get it, they are always very thankful and excited. After all, I was a new tourist in Cancun once. I just never left.
